Chia Seed Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 TBSP chia seeds
  • Almonds, other nuts, and/or goji berries
  • Apple or other fruit
  • Cinnamon
  • Organic oats
  • Water or milk
  • Maple syrup or honey

Instructions

Mix together the chia seeds, nuts, goji berries and soak over night in water

Add an apple or any other fruit you want in the morning.

Cook it a bit with some cinnamon so that the fruit gets soft. Add some oats and more water or milk. Sweeten it up with some maple syrup or honey.
Thats it 😉

Notes:
Chia seeds are a good source of omega-3s. Although there is some controversy over the fact that vegetable based omega-3s may be harder for some people to convert and use (vegetable based omega-3s are ALA which converts to DHA and EPA in the body. It seems vegetarians are better at making this conversion than meat eaters 🙂
